About This SiteThe Philadelphia Radio Archives is devoted to preserving the history of Philadelphia radio broadcasting. The author of this site is Alan Boris, an avid broadcast historian as well as a technology professional specializing in developing software and systems to drive businesses. This site was founded in late 1996, originally located on the AOL Hometown service at http://members.aol.com/PhilaRadio. In the first ten years of operation, tens of thousands of visitors stopped by to learn about the history of Philadelphia radio. Many thanks to the dozens of people who have written encouraging e-mails over the years, including many industry insiders with offers of assistance and corrections. The AOL servers where this site was fomerly hosted were unceremoniously shut down in November, 2008. In early 2009, the site was relocated to the PhillyRadioArchives.com domain, and in May of 2009, a total site redesign and modernization was completed.
